Wagon Tipplers
Wagon tipplers are used for unloading bulk material wagons by rotating them around a pivot axis located above rail level. Materials that can be handled include lump iron ore, iron ore fines, pellets, quartzite, limestone, and other minerals.
The above-rail-level pivoted side-discharging design enables low-level foundations, reducing excavation requirements and overall civil works. This makes the wagon tippler particularly suitable for sites with high groundwater levels.

Turnkey Wagon Unloading Systems
ISKAR provides complete turnkey wagon unloading systems, covering design, supply, installation, and commissioning. Systems can include the tippler unit, wagon holding devices, hoppers, feeders, control systems, and complete automation.
FEA-Based Engineering
Designing wagon unloaders using state-of-the-art finite element analysis (FEA) software enables ISKAR engineers to identify high-stress areas before manufacturing, supporting structural integrity and optimized fatigue life.
Semi-automated systems are available for unloading coal and other bulk materials from open-top rail wagons for material intake at power plants, steel and cement plants, process facilities, and ports. ISKAR wagon tipplers offer unloading capacities ranging from 300 to 4,500 tph.
Custom-Designed for Each Project
Each wagon unloading system is custom-designed and manufactured to suit the specific requirements of the project. In a basic system configuration, wagons are positioned on the tippler platform by a diesel locomotive. Side-arm positioners can also be incorporated where required by the project.
ISKAR wagon tipplers secure the wagon from above using three or four hydraulic clamping arms, depending on wagon length. The tippler drive and clamping arms are powered by a single electric motor-driven hydraulic power unit (HPU) operating with an open-loop hydraulic circuit. The wagon tippler features a robust construction and is designed for continuous-duty operation.
A cradle consisting of heavy welded steel-plate end discs and a sector rigidly connected by a large torsion box girder, fitted at each end with pivot shafts supported by heavy-duty spherical roller bearings.
A rail table supported by rollers in slotted bearings, mounted on extensions of the end sectors.
Four transverse top clamp beams mounted on arms pivoted from the main torsion box girder.
Hydraulic drive control unit integrated into the hydraulic power pack.
Top clamps can be equipped with vibration motors to facilitate material flow at the maximum tippling angle.
Hydraulic system designed to operate at a maximum working pressure of 180 bar.
Anti-friction pivot bearings equipped with dust seals and maintenance platforms.
Centralized grease lubrication system for the tippler.
Weighing system and dust extraction/suppression systems available as optional features.
